Upcoming events at Lymewood Farm

Sunday is a traditional family roast dinner day - and we deliver the goods. The trouble is we have become so popular that we have had to open earlier. We have decided to open our carvery and main menu offering from 11am. Yes, that's right, 11am right through to 9pm. Getting to us early ensures you have more of the day for that relaxing walk or drive to your favourite place. Arriving early also ensures you waste no time at all getting a carvery that has become one of the north's most popular choices.

Tuesday - It must be our quiz night! We have a reputation for hosting the biggest and best fun pub quiz in the north, regularly attracting around 200 players on the night each and every week. It's so much fun that seats are hard to come by and regulars arrive at 7pm to have a meal before the fun starts at 9pm. I even heard one of my customers telling another that it's really great and you don't have to be clever to win!! Now that's what I call a fun quiz.

Usually over 10 people win my super prizes every week. Not only do the team with the highest score win a prize but the teams that finish in any position ending in zero, so 10th, 20th 30th 40th 50th or even 60th place wins a prize.

WAYNE WHO COMPILES THE QUIZ AND PRESENTS IT WITH COLIN EVERY WEEK HAS BEEN A FRIEND OF COLIN'S FOR MANY YEARS. BOTH WAYNE & COLIN HATE THE OLD STYLE PUB QUIZZES WHERE BEING QUIET IS THE RULE, AND BEING OVER A CERTAIN AGE IS HELPFUL. Wayne spends two days a week putting the quiz together and buying in the props and prizes, he ensures the rounds are FUN and varied, with the music rounds changed every week to please all age groups. Wayne & Colin inject as much fun into each round as they can, and Colin can often been seen running around handing prizes out for the teams that sing the loudest or for players who get up to dance to the music questions. It’s truly is a quiz with a big difference, some weeks see over 270 players turn up to join in, now that has to tell you something.

It's not just about being a brain box; it's about being lucky and joining in the fun. Winning teams are handicapped, and the main prize is rarely won by the team with the highest score. Between rounds name are picked from the crystal box to come up and play one of our great fun prize games, examples of games we play each week are – Play your Cards Right, Bully’s Prize board, Colin’s big money wheel, now fondly named –Colin’s Rusty Dusty Roulette Wheel Of Fortune. We offer 9 rounds of 10 questions, 3 rounds are music based and aimed at all age groups, 1 round is 10 items you have to identify, and on many weeks it’s something to eat or taste. Get down to us for a great night out for just a £1. The night is run on a loss basis to us, it's your smiles that are the reward we cherish and look forward to.

Why not try some of our cask ale? Our local brewery, Moorhouse's, supply us with some great names like Blond Witch, Black Cat, Witches Brew. Many are award winning beers, and all have been well received by our customers.

Our full menu is available all day every day from 12pm - 9.30pm, Sunday from 11am. Our famous carvery is available all day on Sunday 11am - 9pm and on all other days from 11.30am-2pm and 5pm-8pm. Bank holidays are as Sunday times. If the sun pops out you will be able to enjoy a carvery meal on the outside patio area - fingers crossed everybody.

If you find you are full up, or want to treat a friend, take a treat home for later, our Cake–Away service is the best in the UK. After 29 years of happy Christmas parties we have looked very closely at what you want, from taking away all the hassle the party organizer normally encounters,to ensuring your whole Christmas experience goes smoothly. Your food and experience will be memorable for all the right reasons as we pride ourselves on caring for your special Christmas meal.
